ChickenSense is a hardware-software system designed for small-holding and backyard chicken owners.
It uses a smart scale and sensors in your nesting boxes to track your chickens’ weight and egg-laying habits, helping you proactively manage their health.

Technology & Installation
The system uses durable, low-cost hardware including a scale, RFID sensors, and Bluetooth-enabled controllers.
It is designed to be unobtrusive and easy to install directly into your existing nesting boxes.
The system uses 13.56MHz RFID bands to recognise specific birds as they enter the nesting area.
This allows the dashboard to attribute data — like egg weight and nesting frequency — to the correct hen.
Not at all. The app is designed to feel like your other smart home devices, like Nest or Ring.
It turns raw data into clear health indicators and push notifications, so you do not have to guess about your flock’s well-being.

Each ChickenSense device is $150.
To get the full value of our data, dashboards, and insights, there is a monthly app subscription fee of $10/month.
ChickenSense has two parts: hardware (ChickenSense Device) and an application.
Our devices are currently only available for purchase through our website, but you will find them in select farming stores in the coming months.
The app is currently only discoverable via a private link, but will soon be available via the iPhone or Android App Stores. In order to get full value, you must have an active subscription — provided through the purchase of a subscription on our website.
