We're chicken keepers (and appreciators)…and we've lost birds we shouldn't have lost. The data that might have helped us existed — weight changes, laying patterns, and small shifts in behaviour… it just wasn't being collected. Not on a backyard flock. Not in a way that was affordable, or simple, or built for someone who has a day job and twelve hens and genuinely cares whether they're all right.
That's why we built Barn Analytics. Not to industrialise the smallholding, but to give it the same basic tools the big operations have had for years.

Barn Analytics was founded by JT Perry (USA) and Jennifer Kenyon (UK). Despite being "across the pond" from one another, they bonded over a shared vision: how to bring the best of tech to the small-scale farmers that need it most.
Between them, they had the animals, the technical background, and the frustrating experience of not having the right tools. So, they built them.
We are Customer Zero.
We have grown to a small, but mighty team with the addition of Jeremy and Aarti. We have one simple rule: don't just build the technology — use it. Our team's own flocks are the first test environments. When something doesn't work in the real coop, we know about it immediately.
We also have a flock of friends and family who keep chickens, and who are honest enough to tell us when something isn't right. That feedback loop is the most valuable thing we have.

How we're funded
To make sure our loyalty stays with our users and their animals, we raised money from people who share our values — family, friends, and farmers. We're extending that through pre-order and funding support options, as well as community platforms, so the people who care most about this are a part of it.
